Fantasy Lane Stable buys unraced two-year olds where the sky's the limit. We are not in the claiming game. You can become involved for as little as $875. In the past 4 seasons we developed 4 stakes horses.
In 2008, R Betty Graybull our 60K purchase won the $200,000 NATC Futurity Stakes at Monmouth Park. In 2007, it was Cobra Strike who was 2nd in the 200K NATC. In 2006, Justawalkinthepark finished 3rd in the Hutchinson Stakes.
But all of this pales in comparison to our 2009 57K purchase of Uptowncharlybrown. Charly is undefeated having won his first 2 starts by a combined margin of 15 lengths including the Pasco Stakes. He's now officially on the Triple Crown trail as he's on most experts Derby Dozen lists. He is now worth millions of dollars.
Enjoy all the privileges of ownership including season passes, parking, owner's box, with access to the barn, backstretch, paddock, and Winner's Circle.

How is the managing partner compensated?
We do not mark our horses up as other partnerships do. We receive a 10% Commisson on the price paid and 10% Ownership in the horse. We have to be good at what we do as we're in there sharing the risk with you!
Who authorizes the various expenditures and how are the partners notified and billed?
The Managing Parnter and Trainer. All Partners receive a K-1 in March with a complete accountng of the check registry. Billing, when necessary takes place every 6 months. For the two-year old season everything is included in the price soup to nuts as we do not bill our partners. And with 4 stake horses in 4 years you can say our partners are a bit spoiled when it comes to training expenses as the horses pay their own way and then some.
When income is recognized from purse money or sales, does this income flow directly to investors or is it maintained in an account to cover future expenses? At what point does the partnership settle up (monthly, quarterly or annually)? Is each partner provided a statement reflecting cash receipts and disbursements? How often?
Distributions are made every six months in excess of six months training {$18,000} being maintained in reserve.
Are racing and sales decisions made solely at the discretion of the managing partner?
Yes,we have a team of experts. We clock horses beyond their official times. It's more important how a horse travels and how he gallops out rather than his or her time. We then have our trainers inspect the horse to eliminate those with serious conformation flaws. Then if we're still interested we vet (examine) the horses before we ever bid at auction. This practice has resulted in 4 stake horses in 4 consecutive years.
How do you keep your partners updated about their horses (Email, phone, website, online message board, etc.) and how often are they updated?
Our partners receive daily emails on the progress of their horses. We also have a phone Hotline to advise of any changes. Nothing is left to chance. We take great pride that we are second to none in the area of communications.
What sort of services and perks do you offer your partners? Stable Visits? Farm Visits? Help handling the licensing? Anything special you want to mention?
All our partners receive unlimited season passes for their family and guests plus a Monmouth Park parking permit.
They also enjoy Reserved Box Seats overlooking the Finish Line.
We welcome them to visit the barn and backstretch as often as they like. They are included in the paddock and stand inside the Winner's Circle when we win.
For partners who need to get licensed {over 5% Interest} we walk them thru it.

I have been affiliated with this fine group for (4) years now. I come from a racing family, my step father trained horses for more than 40 years prior to his death in 1984. I can not express my appreciation to Mr. Hutt, Mr. Seawald, or the supporting cast that surround the horses daily. The horses well being is always the first and foremost. The affordability is a bonus. As for the negative comment by one uninformed investor, the economic downturn had the most significant impact on the venture. This is a class operation with integrity and true friendships born from it...

Well another year has gone by and Fantasy Lane continues it's unbelievable track record. Right now we have African Knight, Miakoda, Bellagio, Joyce's Angel, R Betty Graybull, Writethatdown, Corcho, Fantasy Wildcat and the current star of the stable UptownCharlyBrown. It has been an awesome couple of months. I am thrilled to be one of the partners in Charly. He is really coming into his own and may very well be a serious contender for the triple crown. The racing world has adopted him and us as their own and I am so grateful to see that Fantasy Lane is finally getting the recognition it deserves.
You can't find a better stable to be a part of. The managing partner Bob Hutt, training staff led by Alan Seewald and barn staff all have a part in making sure these horses are ready to race. They are not rushed into anything and will only set foot on the track when they are able. They are treated with love and affection by the staff as well as the partners. By subscribing to this way of training and nurturing, Fantasy Lane has now produced 4 stakes horses with one horse getting ready to take on the big boys. This is not luck. This is a system that works year after year.
I am now in my sixth year and have just put in for our 2010 purchase. I intend to be a part of Fantasy Lane for as long as it exists. If you want a partnership where you actually feel like an owner, than Fantasy Lane should be the first stable you look at.

I have been involved for one year. They are great. All partners are treated like majority owners. Communications are the best. Very good horse people. Recommend them highly. They are the best.

I think I got involved with FLS in 2001. SInce then I have expeienced an almost (big) family-like atmosphere. Management (Bob Hutt) keeps us informed every step of the way and tells it like it is, good or bad. I only need to commit to what I can afford and there is never any pressure or hard sell. I like the fact that we ventured out into pinhooking and breeding and we will see what happens. I only wish we could race in NJ more (close to home) in the spring and summer but until the State Government develops some brains, I need to deal with racing out-of-state.

FLS bought Uptowncharlybrown for 57K. Made his debut at Tampa Bay Downs on the day after Xmas and won by 9 and was written up in the DRF. He is on the KY Derby trail. R Betty Graybull bought for 60K is a stake winner who banked over 200K in 9 starts. Daily emails on all the horses. Another to watch is Joyce's Angel bought modestly who is a future star. Couldn't be happier.

FLS is a great partnership. They have gone way beyond anything ever expected. We are in on just two horses, one has not raced yet, as is still just two, needs to grow. The other is three, and is racing great.
As for the fool who sent the list of complaints,, it is pretty easy to see he knows nothing about horses or racing.
Pin hooking was bad for everyone involved last year as the bottom fell out of the horse market for everyone.
As for the managers not listening to the partners, they do listen, but they do not act on stupid advice. Why would they ever listen to a fool like that, when it is so easy to see he knows nothing about horses or racing and will be a loser in all he does.
But if you want a great partnership, that does a good job of buying good horses at good prices, makes you feel like you are the only owner. Places horses in the best races for them, puts the health of the horses first, and treats you with respect, then FLS is for you.
If you are trying to turn a fast buck, do not care about the horses, or think you know it all, just keep looking.

This is the first partnership I've been a part of (after looking for a year), and FLS has far exceed my expectations. Currently an owner in 6 FLS partnerships, Bob Hutt could not run the stable any better - great communication, great trainer, and always putting the horses best interest first. Anyone who tells it different is sorely mistaken. Also, where other partnerships mark up the price of horses and make their money before the horse even hits the track (and also doesn't have a vested interest in the success of the horse), the managing partner here owns 10% of each runner. That alone tells you that the managing partner's best interest is in a successful campaign for each horse. Highly recommened by myself, and all the other happy partners who have made comments on this board.

I have been involved in FLS for 6 years. They have developed 3 stake horses for modest sums which have provided me with the thrill of a lifetime. They are very good at communicating as partners are kept abreast almost on a daily basis. All of my questions have been answered. The comment from RW must be from a malcontent who invested in the pinhooking venture before the financial markets collapsed. His disparaging remarks are certainly not representative of my experience. I would highly recommend FLS to anyone entertaining joining a racing partnership.
RW, 8/30/09
Got involved in the 2008 yearling pinhooking ventures....
1. Horses were not bought where they were NOT supposed to be bought
2. Only people making any money are the managing partner and the trainers.
3. Absolutely ZERO return on investment thus far in 2009 on ANY of the FLS horses
4. Managing partner hates anyone to disagree with him
5. Stable has become a claimers haven
6. Stable prefers to breeze and collect training fees rather than race
7. If you are looking to purchase "snake oil", FLS is the place for you to say goodbye to your money
8. Freedom of speech does not exist with these guys
9. They buy for 100k then sell for 7,500.
10. 2 out of 3 pinhook horses from last year still have not started. They breeze, they swim, they use up expense money but they don't race.
11. Should I go on?

I always imagined what it would like to be an owner, but I NEVER imagined how far above my expectations it would be when I joined Fantasy Lane! The horses we buy are QUALITY...believe me, they do their homework! The price is COMPLETELY A-F-F-O-R-D-A-B-L-E, even on the tightest of budgets!!! Training and maintenance fees are minimal (with some of the horses, non-existent as they pay their own way, AND, involvement with the horses is not only allowed, it's ENCOURAGED! We are encouraged to visit the horses and visit OFTEN, to share our own experiences around with the rest of the partners who aren’t as close by, to take pictures and videos of the horses’ workouts and care as well as races! It's ALSO encouraged to ask the management questions, though you can speak with the Trainer and everyone at the barn as well! There are no dumb questions and all of them are answered!
My experience with this stable has been above and beyond anything I could ever hope for in a partnership! We are kept abreast of the horses with DAILY emails...sometimes multiple per day! We've had success with the races and the horses and they are loved and VERY well taken care of! We even keep track of our retired horses to make sure they are also doing well. We had our first foal this year and we were notified as soon as she was brought into this world! So many of us went to see her and her mother at the farm where she was born! This was only a few days after her birth, too!
Our stable has SUCH a bright future this year! I cannot wait to see when and where our babies will race next! I was fortunate enough to be able to attend two of the auctions this year where we got our new 2 year old babies! There is an intense screening process for each of the horses by several members of the FLS team! Everything from how the horse moves, to conformation to cost...and the screening proved itself last year as we had a phenom filly by the name of Betty! She gave us SO MUCH joy last year, we couldn't have been happier! This year, we have sons of Limehouse, Read the Footnotes, Awesome Again and Western Pride to look out for as well as daughters of Forest Wildcat and Afleet Alex! Our 3 year olds encompass daughters of Holy Bull and Indian Charlie and our sweet Smarty Jones baby just broke his maiden a few weeks ago in a duel of a race!!!!!
I cannot say enough great things about this partnership! It feels more like I joined a club or organization than made an investment! I've made several good friends here and the management is without a doubt the most approachable and very willing to listen! I thank them SO MUCH for letting me get involved!!!!!

This is AWESOME!! My wife and I have been involved with FLS for 5 short weeks. It's been a wonderful experience thus far and I'm certain it will only get better. Just being able to get "backstage" at Monmouth Park gives me chills. The entire staff take time to provide insight on the industry and have been extremely courteous. Thanks FLS for allowing us this opportunity.
Chuck F., 6/06/09
If you want to feel like a member of a team ,this is the partnership for you.
Checked out about 10/15 oppertunities, and we could not have made a better choice-Bob keeps you up to date on a daily basis , not only on your partnership , but the industry in depth.
And the other partners also share pictures- comments from stable visits so even if your not able to be there , you never feel left out.
On several occasions, I was able to go to a race with a FLS entry, and the care and condition of the horse is evedent- some partnerships say the horse is first- at FLS it is a reality.
Jay S., 6/05/09
I have been involved in Fantasy Lane for approx. 5 years. Managing partner Bob Hutt is a fine horseman and all around good guy. He updates every horse's condition from a hiccup to a blowout work. You are never kept in the dark about a horse's condition; unlike another stable I am involed in. If you want to get involved in horseracing partnerships, I would highly recommend landing here. Costs are kept to a minimum and you feel like you are part of a family not just a business. Just go to the track when one the partnerships horses are running and you really feel like you are an owner not just someone who is used to provide funds. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

I was a member the initial year FLS was formed. The operation is all class, they are honest, courteous and do there best to accomondate all the members whether you have a 1/4 of a share, a full share or 10 shares they treat everyone the same. Allan Seewald (trainer)is down to earth he will provide you / answer any handicapping question / trainers angles you ask. He will give you a honest assessment on whether his horse matches up well in any race and tell you who the main competition is and pretty much tell you how the race will unfold. The only warning / caution I can provide is if there is a single canoli or one rum bun left in the box look both ways before you take the last one.

In the spring of 2008, I searched for a partnership based at Monmouth Park and found FLS. After doing my due diligence, I decided to sign up with their latest purchase - Smart Justice, a Smarty Jones colt. He had just sold out and I missed! So I signed up for "whatever horse you buy next". Well, "Next" turned out to be R Betty Graybull. "Dream come true" doesn't begin to describe the summer I had. And, it's not only because Betty stayed healthy and raced and won, it's because of the wonderful partners/communication/experience of FLS. Monmouth Park is very friendly to owners and lets us visit the barn any time. And, FLS considers you a "connection" of any of the horses, not just the one(s) you own. Smart Justice won a race a couple of weeks ago and I was graciously allowed into the Winners Circle.
I couldn't possibly give a higher recommendation!

What can I say about Fantasy Lane? I have been a partner with them for the last five years and I intend to be with them for many years to come. From all the things I've learned and all the people I've met, to the managing partner Bob Hutt, Trainer Alan Seewald, grooms, walkers, exercise riders and, of course, the horses themselves this has been the most amazing experience of my life. You can't get this experience anywhere else. From the daily updates, access to the barns and training of the horses and yearly trips to the various auctions, Fantasy Lane and it's staff is second to none. You get a full accounting of everything, which is not true of some other partnerships, and it's truly a hands on experience. The horses are not just investments but truly cared for and loved by not only the Fantasy Lane staff, but the partners as well. The staff of Fantasy Lane looks for the athlete first and we have had many success stories through the years. Expenses are kept low and winning purse money is distributed to the partners. My feeling is that if you love the sport of kings and the horses themselves, this is the place to be. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Fantasy Lane and Managing Partner Bob Hutt. The knowledge and experience that you take away from being a part of this partnership is invaluable.
G Maharg, 6/04/09
We have been members of 3 FLS partnerships for two years. They are very professional in selecting their horses, having them trained and selecting races for them. The horse always comes first and there is never pressure applied to run a horse before he is ready. By far, FLS strongest asset is communication. We receive several emails daily from the GP.
Jim S., 6/04/09
They are a class act. Partners receive great communication and access Great way to be involved with competitive horses in an affordable way Strongly recommend them.
Mark S., 6/04/09
Having been involved with this partnership for the past 7 years, I can honestly say that you will have the time of your life. This partnership was made with one thing in mind: To allow others, who normally might not be able to afford this, to experience the thrills and joys of ownership. Their winning and in the money percentage is unbelievably high. FLS is more than just a partnership, it becomes an extended family. ALL questions about the racing industry are answered and access to the barn is always encouraged. Information about your horses is emailed to you daily. After being in other partnerships, I STRONGLY recommend Fantasy Lane Stable. Join and have the time of your life!
Steve, 6/04/09
I cannot recommend FLS any higher, particularly for those looking to get involved in the owning game for the first time. Bob Hutt keeps you informed -- every day -- on how the horses are doing, what time workout are, issues have developed (big and small), and all kinds of general racing information. You always feel welcome at the barn. Nothing like being in their area and stopping by to see your horse and say hello. Most important to me is the level of honesty from Bob and Alan (trainer). There's no point in getting all sorts of empty hype and false promises. These guys are straight shooters and aren't going to tell you your horse is heading for the Breeders Cup just to create unnecessary hype. They buy two years olds with great potential and take care of them. In my first year of ownership I was at Saratoga, in the winners circle at Belmont and Monmouth, and at Philly Park for a great stakes race. Very happy to be a partner in FLS and can't imagine there's another partnership out there that does more for its partners.
RLC, 6/04/09
I have been involved with Fantasy Lane Stables for just a year; however, I have experienced and observed more attention to detail, more accessibility, and more education about thoroughbreds and the racing industry than I could have ever imagined. I have met other partners who have been involved much longer than I have and who are honest and open with their only positive accounts of interactions with Bob, Alan, Linda, etc. I respect the knowledge that Bob shares in all of his e-mails. I am completely comfortable whenever I visit the barn. Although I am a "newbie" I never feel like one. I especially appreciate the care and diligence the FLS people demonstrate towards the horses referring to them as "athletes" - has always impressed me. Although I cannot visit the barn as often I would like, I am more than kept up to speed with Bob's e-mails. It's an honest, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable organization. I know I made the right decision to invest in this organization.
Johnnie P, 12/30/08
If you are looking to get involved with the ownership aspect of Thoroughbred Horse Racing, Fantasy Lane has so much to offer. If you are a seasoned horseman or a weekend warrior, you will be amazed on the knowledge that is afforded to you. Their staff is second to none. They are always eager to help with any questions you may have and encourage you to ask questions. When you talk horse racing, the word “class” will come up, Fantasy Lane is just that, all class!
Tom Jackson, 12/30/08
I currently am a partner with FLS. As a first time investor into a horse racing partnership, I was cautiously optimistic about the success and nature of the racing partnership business. Most importantly, I wanted to feel involved and forget about the monetary investment. To me, this was all about learning the game, having a good time, and seeing the broader side of the thoroughbred racing industry. Fantasy Lane hits the ball out of the park. With (multiple) daily updates on each horse and a thorough and in depth planning and execution process, FLS provides all of their members with even the most minutae detail.
As for race track performance, I could not ask for a better experience. Our filly, R Betty Graybull, ran her first race in a MSW at Saratoga. Although she did not win, it was such a great experience at one of the most historic racetracks in the world. In September, our Betty ran at Monmouth Park in front of all my family in friends in the NATC Futurity. This was the treat of a lifetime, for me. As they ran out of the fog and into the stretch, Betty emerged victorious just in time for a victory. To stand in the winner's circle at my home track, after a very special stakes victory - no words can describe the euphoric rush. Since that day, "Betty" has been constant chatter among friends, family and coworkers. Along the winding road of our filly's 2-year-old year, I have made plenty of new friends, while at the same time experiencing joy and the beauty and sportsmanship of thoroughbred racing. We did not have to win the Kentucky Derby or the Breeder's Cup; but, if you asked any of us involved, we feel like we already have.
The reason I share this story is to show that FLS note only gets you involved in the ownership part of the business, but they make it personal and make you feel involved. This is not an investment, yet, a chance to make new friends with thoroughbreds and fellow partners alike. Even without the knowledge or experience to compare partnerships, I have to say I will never stray from FLS. The "whole experience" they bring to the table is second to none.
